General Information: Overview: Biographies: Norman Marcus Norman Marcus received his B. A. in Economics from Dickinson College, Carlisle, PA., and his M. B. A. from New York University's Graduate School of Business Administration. Upon receiving his M. B. A., he spent two years in military service, in the Finance Corps. Upon leaving the military, he joined the accounting firm of S.D. Leidesdorf & Co. and was admitted to partnership in 1974. As Partner In Charge of their Century City, Los Angeles office's Tax Department, he founded their Business Management Practice, which specialized in business management services to the Entertainment Industries (including high-profile talent, directors, producers, production companies, and music entities). Upon merger in 1978, Mr. Marcus became a partner in Ernst & Young LLP, one of the major international certified public accounting firms. He retired from Ernst & Young in 1997, after 34 years of service. Upon retirement, Mr. Marcus served as the financial advisor to a former client, Dr. Frederick Lenz, and upon the demise of Dr. Lenz now serves as the President and as a member of the Board of Directors of The Frederick P. Lenz Foundation For American Buddhism. Peacemaker Community/Peacemaker Circle International is one of the Foundation's major grant recipients. Mr. Marcus also serves as the Chief Administrative Officer for Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman, LLP, a national Certified Public Accounting firm specializing in business management services. Mr. Marcus is a Certified Public Accountant in both California and New York. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants, and has served on various committees for the California society. |
