In the Fall of 2007, Roshi Bernie Glassman taught a graduate course at the Harvard Divinity School entitled "Buddhist Arts of Ministry in the Zen Peacemakers Order."
The course focused on new ministry paths developed by the Zen Peacemakers order, which integrate Zen precepts and practices into social action programs that work with the unemployed, homeless and people with AIDS in urban ghettos and war-torn situations. Students were trained in the means for transformation of individuals, neighborhoods, and society according to the practices of the Zen Peacemaker Order. Students also are helping in the planning stages of a new project to establish Zen Houses in impoverished areas of the U.S.
The following are unedited recordings of Bernie's lectures for you to download. Edited transcripts of the lectures and the remaining audio recordings of the lectures will be added as time permits.
